Slow starting period

Hi,

For months now my period has been so slow starting. 1st day i always notice very slight shedding (pinky brown) usually not even worth noting and maybe some wouldn't actually notice it! Day 2 is the same, then day 3 and 4 is a little more and then it will eventually start Red.

My cycle can range between 26 - 35 days last between 6-8 days.

Just few things- Im still part breastfeeding my 21 month old daughter sometimes only once in the day, sometimes can be 3-5 times if the weekend!

I had my daughter in May 2023, my periods returned Jan 2024

I had a smear in march, was all clear ☺️

I have always tracked my periods but Im not 100% if they have been like this since they restarted and ive only just started wondering these past few months if its normal!??

Does anyone experience the same?

Mine are like that since having my little one 2.4 years ago. But then I'm 38 now so probably heading into peri🫣

2kidmum · 10/02/2025 07:54

@Devilsmommy im 29 so i dont think im peri yet, although never know!🫣

Ive no other symptoms like pain or anything like that so I just dont know if i should go get checked, i feel like the docs will just say my smear was clear and nothing else is abnormal and send me on my way 😂

@2kidmum you're probably right regarding GP. It might just be a hormone thing from having little one and breastfeeding. It may go back to normal when you don't bf anymore maybe🤷

Chillilounger · 10/02/2025 08:18

Mine were like this from mid 30's ( post kids) and then in in early 40's periods started getting lighter but closer together. Had loads of scans. Nothing abnormal. I am assuming it is just hormones.

2kidmum · 10/02/2025 10:22

@Devilsmommy yeah i think might be my normal whilst still partially breastfeeding! Will just keep closely tracking!

@Chillilounger yeah i agree could be hormones! Ive also been slightly stressed lately so that could be contributing 🥲

2kidmum · 10/02/2025 17:58

This happens to me (PCOS) when my hormones are out of whack. Maybe ask for a blood test?
