I've had some brown discharge for around 5 days which became heavier on Friday (not close to my period). I felt my cervix and I can feel two lumps. I tried to get a GP appointment this morning but by the time I got through there was only a telephone appointment available.

I've just had a call and he barely asked me anything. He didn't ask if I'm having any pain or about any other symptoms. He just said that it's nothing and to book an in person appointment at some point so they can do a swab. He couldn't/wouldn't book an appointment for me, just told me to call at 8am tomorrow or complete an e-consult.

I might be overreacting and worrying about nothing but I feel like this should be checked. Especially as my last smear showed precancerous cells (which was treated). I just feel like I've been dismissed because it's a "woman's issue".

He told you to make an in person appointment so it can be checked. That's what you should do

He has suggested you make an appointment for the swab, so that isn't dismissing you as it will be checked. The systems for actually getting an appointment seem quite mystifying now but e consult is usually the best way at our practice. Just put that you have already spoken to Dr X who told you to make an appointment and list your symptoms.
