Mirena coil - weight gain?

Has anybody experienced significant weight gain since getting a Mirena? I've not had mine in long but feel like I've put on quite a bit of weight already.

Yep. I put on over two stone. I also never stopped spotting or bleeding the whole time it was in. I (finally) managed to get it removed just under 12 months after having it fitted.

It is listed as a side effect. For me loss of libido, I think it was the nail in the coffin for my marriage. I was one of the first wave of mirena users back in the mid nineties. It was only later I found out about the side effects it made me really angry.

It was super convenient once the spotting stopped but I felt I paid a high price for that.

My gums receded. Terrible!

Look up side effects!

I haven't put on any weight since having a Mirena coil but I know it's a side effect for some women.

I definitely gained weight but not sure if it was due to the mirena or the side effects and almost constant bleeding and spotting and cramps which meant I did less exercise and drank more wine! Either way, I was glad to see the back of it.
