Are these clots considered normal? (Warning - photo attached)

I'm really struggling with my periods since having my second child (age 2), each month the pain is quite severe and I pass large clots over the first few days.

When I sit on the toilet I can literally watch the blood pour out like a slow running tap, and if I pass a clot it's physically painful. The clots are often very large (see photo sorry).

Is this considered normal? I was on the mini pill for around 10 years which stopped my cycle completely so I'm not 100% sure.

I think that’s a bigger clot than I’ve ever had, I’d make a GP appointment and have a chat just to be on the safe side x

Yes I think that’s normal for some unfortunately. I definitely had clots like that. Especially if I had got up after being sat or lay down for a while.

Anything bigger than a 5p warrants GP visit - get tested for anemia while you’re there.

Doubtless nothing amiss but there are loads of ways to reduce heavy periods. You poor thing, it’s so sore.

I used to have clots like that often . Had a hysterectomy for adenomyosis and fibroids in October and no more ever! I didn't realise how bad it was until I don't have to deal with it anymore. Definitely speak to your gp.

Mirena coil is a bitch when it comes to
fixing this too - my niagaras stopped that month.

That's on the smaller side of what I get (and have always had) but I think it's always worth getting things like big clots checked out.
