Spinal Fracture - tips?

I had a scan for something which has been an ongoing problem and got a call yesterday saying that it had discovered what was described as a 'spinal fracture'. Somewhat shocking - have calmed down a bit now. They are going to send me an appointment to have a bone scan (I am late 50s) = the last one I had was probably about 20 years ago and all was really good, but obviously menopause has occurred since then. But I can see it could also be a result of a fall.

I understand they usually take about 4 months to heal, have a vague feeling I may have fallen over within that time but cant remember details of it so it was not a massive accident or anything. I also had a surgery in November, wondering if this could have happened somehow during or after it. I did have a fall at work about 15 months ago when the chair I was about to sit on shot out from under me and I fell over backwards but surely it would have healed by now if that caused it?

I asked about physio and the nurse was quite vague. Should I be talking to my GP to ask for this? Any tips on how to manage it?

My DD had a fall off a 12 ft wall, doctor told her her back was bruised. 2 years later she was still in pain. An X-ray showed she had a fracture in her spine. We were told because it was left so long it won't go back properly so she has to put up with the pain. She is a dancer too!

You need to look up the royal osteoporosis society. It’s a fantastic website full of helpful info regarding bone facility fractures. They also have a helpful with knowledgable nurses that you can ask any questions to.

Oh shit @adamduritzvocalchords - I wonder if it was the fall then. What is worse is that it was at work, and I did not report it as I had a client waiting and wanted to get on.

Thank you @DottyMilkshake that is fantastic advice. Checking it out now.
