I’m panicking and yes I know I should go to the GP WHICH I will do tomorrow as it’s too late mow

i have slight bleeding which I have never had mid cycle . I’m just 40yrs old . I used a speculum to check ( pls don’t ask what I’m doing with one 🙈) and I saw some blood vessel like bleeding . Had clean smear feb 2023.saw dots of bleeding on the cervix

I suspect it may be ectropion but can cancer also look like this ? Pls? Any experience?

I’d go to the GP and asked to be checked. Maybe don’t mention that you’ve checked yourself as they might dismiss saying it’s injury from self examination. Good luck x

Since when did we all become so triggered by our bodies, seriously some people need to get a grip.
Show your GP. It looks like ectropian but you want to be sure.

Don’t worry about the TW. You put sensitive pic and warning, not sure how clear people want you to be! It’s just an organ I’m not sure why people get so vexed xx

Get that GP appointment ASAP, don't do anymore Internet searching until you have spoken to the doctor.

I've been there with issues with my cervix and trust, googling and worrying are not helpful. You need a professional to look at it, and go from there. You can't diagnose yourself.

Before you go to your appointment, sit and think about dates of your last period, other unusual symptoms, they will want to know when you last had sex, any info you might think will be relevant - write it down. Also, think about questions you might have for the doc.

Write it all down so you can go in with a clear head and make maximum use of the appointment time.

Take some deep breaths, distract yourself. You'll get this sorted.

I think this is the first photo of a cervix I've seen! Thank you, OP.

It's also the first I've heard of cervical ectropion. After scrolling past all the droopy eyelids, it seems this 'erosion' is fairly usual but should always be checked. So go get checked. All the best.

Hi Did you get it looked at ? I've been told on my previous pelvic exam that they see a red dot with a vessel didn't bleed when touched I've now been referred on a 2 week cancer pathway doctor isn't convinced it's cancer she said it doesn't look like it but just needs to get it checked. Just wondering if you went and got it looked at I had mid cycle bleeds also I'm 44 .

No advice but how on earth did you manage to take that photo?!

Hi sorry just seeing your message. They gave me an appointment very far away so just have it tomorrow 27th.I checked again but I’ve not seen the dots again so hopefully it’s good news tomorrow

did the dr say what she thought it was ? Have you had your appointment?

Hi i had my appointment Friday last week , cervix was clear they didn't see any red marks on the cervix she said it could of just been a burst blood vessel. Good luck with your appointment il sure you will be fine I've had all the checks done im still bleeding in between periods but I think it might be my coil causing it I've had it in 5 yeas so maybe it coming to a end.x

Had mine today . She said no abnormalities seen but just an ectropian.asked if this could cause the bleeding she said she doesn’t think it is but it could be hormonal . Thankfully it is clear . She said she sees cervixes that bleed all the time and usually nothing to worry about. Also did my smear test as I’m due one in 6 months

Speculum and an iPhone with a flashlight did the trick 😊
