Coil fell out?

Anyones coil expelled itself?

My first period, rather crampy / contraction like on different days. Probably a sign but never having had a coil before, how am I to know.

I felts something sharp ‘up there’ walking and when I was able to check, my coil was in my vagina not my uterus!

Any luck having another? I was rather hoping to have no periods, get my iron levels up. I am keen to try again, but scared this will happen again. Xx

It can happen. It's probably been fitted incorrectly. If it's a Mirena, they have the largest frame of any coil and this caused me continuous cramping for the five years I had it.

What did the clinic/GP that fitted it say?

Oh really, I didnt know that. Yes I thought maybe the first period would be the worst pain wise. I wouldnt like that pain every month though! Xx

I had it at a coil clinic at a different GP surgery, I have requested a call appointment to discuss having another. Receptionist told me to call my own GP to let them know. But my son’s DR rang to do his telephone consult via me, then I had to go to work so I will give my GP a call in the morning and let them know. Xx

yep! Well at least that's what we assume happened to it.....I had one fitted to supposedly help with heavy bleeding (mostly caused by fibroids) and it had the opposite effect which culminated in a particularly spectacular episode of me passing huge clots and ending up in A&E. coil hasn't been seen since despite extensive investigation including an MRI, hysteroscopy and x-ray!

Oh no! I am passing a fair amount of blood still on day 6 and having cramps my GP via receptionist told me to take pain killers if need be 🤣 when the clinic told me to notify my GP.

Id wanted it to thin my womb lining (guessing it is at least still doing that 🤣)

Did you bleed for ages? Im usually a 3-4 day period and done, day 6 of fairly heavy bleeding and not showing signs of letting up. Xx

Yes, it really did do the opposite of what it was intended to do! I had longer and heavier bleeding, a lot of spotting in between periods and cramps like I’d never had in my life. I’m not exaggerating when I say it was a year of hell!!
