Hysteroscopy

I just want to say a previous lady said she had this and no issues and I wanted to say the same.
I sillyly googled reviews and honestly it was simple enough, a slight twinge and quick too.

Staff amazing .

So, don't Google.. it'll be fine

It wasn't fine for my sister!

Do Google and make your own choice.

If you can't handle a smear then get a GA for a hysteroscopy. (Ie; me).

I really don’t get these brag posts, sorry. Women’s health is already badly treated it doesn’t need this.

For some women it may be a breeze but not for every woman, and it’s a woman’s choice as to whether they put themselves through the procedure and or it’s something they have to experience for themselves.

I had a colonoscopy for the back end over in 15 mins and not remembered thanks to sedation offered as standard but less so for women’s procedures, says it all.

I wasn't bragging . I was trying to reassure.

I think it is different for each person and has nothing to do with pain threshold.
I have given birth twice - once with gas and air and once without pain relief.
I have also been through IVF which involves a lot of poking and prodding!
Smears, I am also fine with.
I found the hysteroscopy to be the most painful thing I have ever experienced. I actually almost passed out.
Not trying to scaremonger at all but I feel quite strongly that they should all be done under sedation unless the patient specifically opts out as it is just impossible to tell who is going to have a bad experience.

You can't reassure all women though - for many it is not fine and for many (like me) there are very valid reasons why they won't want to have a hysteroscopy without a GA.

Googling gives women the information they need to make an informed choice. Never dismiss that.
