Unusually heavy painful period

I'm having a much more painful than usual period with massively heavier flow. I had similar when I miscarried but never at other times.

Is there a point at which I seek medical attention. I can't even work out what attention I could need, but when I miscarried I was admitted and given blood and fluids but this is just a period.

Anything I can find on doctor google talks about heavy periods like they happen all the time and just seems like you have to deal with it.

(I have endometriosis so am used to pain but this is worse - and am perimenopausal but this is new)

How are you doing today OP? Did you get any help or are you just trying to muddle though?

I had a massively heavy period in October 2023 which was very unusual for me. I couldn't move without it pouring out (sorry for TMI). I called 111 and they told me to go to A&E. They gave me some medication to help which really helped.

If you are still experiencing this, please call 111 for some advice / help.

Sending you hugs x

Thank you so much for responding. I am muddling through but your response has made me feel like it is worth calling 111 for help as that description is very similar.

I hope that you manage to get some help from 111 and some relief from the heaviness and pain. Periods are awful at the best of times, let alone when they are at this point. Sending hugs and hope you get sorted x
