Abnormal periods?

My periods have always consisted of 3-4 days of moderate/heavy bleeding and around 2 days (ish) sometimes a bit longer, either side with what I’d describe as spotting, brown/pink blood. It’s not even heavy enough to fill a pad a day but it’s there when I wipe. I recently saw an image that said unhealthy periods are anything longer than 7 days! It got me thinking, is the spotting a part of my period? If I count the spotting I could be technically bleeding for 9 days! Is this something I need to get checked out ?

How old are you? Sounds like the start of my peri-menopause, but yes I would go to the GP.

If this is how your periods have always been I'd say it's fine. Your having a normal flow and then it just gets very light then stops. I can't see what this is a problem. Everyone's flow is different, I know after I had my dd2 I'd have two super heavy days and then it would almost stop like you, like the whole lot came out in two days but now she's a bit older it's gone back to a more steady flow.

I’m only 35! My periods can be a little all over the place at times. I’ve had months where I’m nearly a week late for no apparent reason!
