Hi,

I'm just looking for some advice or reassurance I guess... A bit of back story: Im in my mid 20s, I came off the pill 7 months ago, for the last 6 months I have had a very normal/regular 29-31 day cycle, however this month I am currently on day 41 and there is no sign of it arriving.

I have done 4 different pregnancy tests on different days over the last week, all negative. I have tried to get a docs appointment but they cant see me for another week and even then its a phone appointment.

Im going through a break up right now and my sleep has been terrible which makes me wonder if thats impacting it, Im just quite new to having a cycle again and unsure whats normal/if i should be concerned about other health factors.

How long can stress delay a period? Could my hormones still be way off after coming off the pill (just seems odd as I have been having a regular cycle) Is there anything I can do to induce it?

Any other peoples experiences or recommendations would be appreciated as I am worried and can't get doctor help for a while still.

Thankyou

Stress can definitely affect your cycle. I completely missed my period when my gran died - think period in Jan, Feb, nothing in March, period in April. It’s the one and only time it happened.

Oh one thing i forgot to mention, 2 weeks ago I had 2 days of very light spotting which isn't a symptom I normally get. I wondered if it was ovulation bleeding maybe...but that would still make my cycle almost 2 weeks out of sync to normal.

Did your period come again on the time/rough date it normally would have been when it returned in the April?

Yes, my next period came at the normal time - so it was a 56 day cycle effectively.
