First period?

I think my DD12 has had her first period. A bit of brown old dry blood. Then seems to have stopped. Is this normal with a first one? Wondering if it will come back in force in a couple of days.

Sounds exactly like how DD’s was. She didn’t have another one after that for about 6 months and wasn’t regular for another 2 years

Yeah - all over the place for a couple of years. We're 4 years in and only now it's getting more regular.

Yep, this happened with DD, followed by nothing for a year!

The bad news was she expected all future periods to be as light, so the real thing was a bit of a shock (despite being warned!)

The good news was that by the time she did have her first proper bleed she was almost 14 and starting to feel a bit left behind so she was actually quite pleased to see it.

The novelty has since worn off of course!
