I've been on the pill for 6 months now (desogestral) after being very avoidant and nervous but so desperate to end my pains and mental health was in a state. It has massively helped with mental health/emotions but Im still experiencing PMS symptoms, I will still have pains (not as bad) but bad enough that I need painkillers and sometimes stops me from being active. I'll still experience other aspects of PMS too, sore boobs, bowel changes ect. I've had contradictory information from 2GPs about it one saying it's normal one saying I need to book and see them if it carries on. Does anyone else know if this is normal?? I don't wanna go back to the GP if this is all normal it's just a bit annoying as I'm not having periods now but still experiencing the symptoms

I'm also on desogestral coming up to 6 months. I think it can take a long time to settle, they say around 6 months usually so perhaps give it another couple of weeks.

I think this pill affects everyone differently as I have no periods on it and very little pms etc but I know that people can still get regular periods, or light bleeding etc whilst taking it alongside pms symptoms.

If you can't tolerate it then you can ask to try a different option.

Thank you! I really don't wanna have to change pill I'm just confused and annoyed that I'm still having so many symptoms and no period, I will give it a bit longer tho and see If it settles
