Sounds normal to me, if you add in horrendous debilitating pain for at least 48hrs that can make me vomit, while also causing diarrhoea, and then another 24-48 hours of agony at ovulation. If you only get your symptoms during your period, personally I think you are very lucky, mine start 7-10 days before my period. And then my period lasts 8-10 days. Sorry, I don’t mean to minimize your struggles, I’m venting against my own menstrual cycle. I think most women have at least your symptoms if not more. The real problem here is that modern medicine views women’s pain and discomfort as acceptable and they haven’t really done much research into alleviating it, other than throwing a blanket of artificial hormones over the problem, which can cause its own problems.

You could take magnesium for the anxiety, and just go easy on yourself in the run up to your period. Avoid salt, alcohol and hard exercise the week before and during your period, instead choose yoga or Pilates to reduce your cortisol (i.e. stress) levels and try to nurture yourself through healthy food choices. If you go to your GP they will likely propose contraception of some description. It works for some, it doesn’t work for me.
