Hello. I'm looking for some advice.

I'm 43. Always had heavy periods. Got much heavier/longer towards end of last year. Had a scan - have a 5cm fibroid suspected of causing bleeding.

Bleeding managed fairly successfully with tranexamic acid for 5 months. That stopped working. Went on noriday. That worked to manage bleeding until now. Been bleeding (mainly spotting) for 2.5 weeks

Due to noriday shortage I've been prescribed desogestrel. Not started that yet but need to decide soon whether to switch or hold out for noriday to be available again. (Would definitely have done that if not for current bleeding episode).

Unable to have a combination pill due to family history of a blood clot. Unable to have coil due to position of fibroid. Awaiting gynecology appointment. Been waiting a year. Another year to wait. GP out of options.

Just wondering if anyone else has had similar experience and has any suggestions. Any experience switching from noriday to desogestrel?
