Bleeding for two weeks straight following merina

I had Merina coil fitted three weeks ago. I was 4 months post partum. A week later i started bleeding, I was due anyway so wasn't surprised. I've now been bleeding for two weeks straight, not spotting, proper heavy, day 2 or 3 of period. I don't know how I have any blood left and no signs of it letting up..

I had the coil before ten years ago and loved it. Had spotting on and off for weeks but could manage that and then had 5 years of nothing.

This is driving me nuts. I contacted the doctor on Friday but obv no response yet. At what point do I get concerned?

I had this issue, the nurse said it can take 3 months to settle and to give it time.
When I went back at 3 months, still constantly spotting or full on bleeding every day, she told me to give it more time. No matter at what stage I went back she always said the same thing. By 9 months I was in tears begging to have it removed, they didn’t have any appointments to do this, and it wasn’t until 11 months after fitting, still spotting or bleeding daily, that it was finally removed!

I've spotted for about 6 weeks after each one. I found it's worth it and I'm on my third.

GP should be able to prescribe you a pill (sorry can't remember the name) that you take for a week to stop the bleeding. I wouldnt really be concerned for my health, it's very annoying though. I hope you get it sorted.

I used to be on depo and loved it, as it stopped all periods. Then when I went on it after baby I bleed for 3 weeks, so GP prescribed me a pill which stopped the bleed within a couple of days, but I had to take it for a week or so.

My friend had a very similar experience to this

12months I put up with bleeding!! Had it taken out in the end

Thanks all..euch I can't cope with months of this. The whole point of it was to reduce bleeding and having uninterputed sex. Currently no sex at all it's too heavy a flow!! Will speak to the doctor see if anything they can do. I'm anemic so this isn't great for me

Thanks all. Spoke to my GP today who was wonderful and has given me some tablets to try and help. So fingers crossed.
