No judgment please. Someone in my family was prescribed mounjaro but aren't taking it, they have offered it to me as I really want to start it, the only issue is the 2.5 is out of date which means I'll have to start on 5. Would this be ok? I know not ideal but would save me abit of money

No you need to start on 2.5 mg and it needs to be prescribed for you so you know it’s safe. If the 5 mg is not open, it will keep in the fridge until its expiration date. I suggest you apply for a private 2.5 mg dose, check out the discount codes thread. And if it’s safe for you, you’ll get your initial pen. Then when you are ready for 5 mg, you’ll have 1 ready and waiting.

Yeah I thought about that but these injections go out of date February and I would t be able to order one until January so I would be wasting one where if I started them they wouldn't waste

Apart from the fact that you need to have a proper consultation with a HCP before startinr the medication to make sure it’s safe for you, starting on 5mg would probably make you feel incredibly ill. Even after 2 months on 2.5mg, I really struggled with the jump to 5mg.
