First ever mid cycle bleed on day 14 cycle… age 41

Hi ladies so to start with I am not pregnant.

periods are always 28-30 days and on time but have had some peri symptoms such as lack of libido and dryness. Periods are perhaps slightly longer than they were.

My last period started 14 days ago and lasted 4 days and was normal. Today is day 14 and I had browny red in my knickers but nothing on wiping. I wasn’t sure if it was even from my vagina so put a tampon in to test and when I pulled it out jt was bright red. I’ve put a pad on but nothing coming out. Is this an ovulation bleed perhaps or the start of another period? It has never happened before. I don’t have period pain. I will speak to GP but to get an appointment is taking weeks.

I ended up back on the pill as I was bleeding for 2 weeks every month

This is really reassuring to know that it can be a hormonal variance. Was you normal prior to this? It doesn’t feel like a period as was only so light and only there when I pop a tampon in to check.. odd spot on pad.

Mine were like clockwork until literally the month I turned 40
I had a colposcopy and my cervix is ok
It can certainly be hormonal

I had a lletz and colposcopy about 19 months ago but all was fine and removed and the follow up smear last august was negative. I deffo feel more hormonal than usual with slightly sore boobs but deffo not pregnant lol so until I have my scans it must be bloody hormones.
