Zoladex for fibroids

Hi there, just looking for a bit of advice. Im 34 female. Im on month 2 now of zoladex injection for fibroids. To help shrink them before intended myomectomy surgery.

I had a lot of bleeding in the first month. Was prescribed tranexamic acid to help manage it. Had my 2nd injection 2 weeks ago. Just finished my period about 5 days ago this month. And iv started baginal bleeding again. Has anyone else had this? I will speak to the go again. Does anyone know why this is happening so much?

When I had it I didn’t have bleeding. It’s worth talking to your GP or Gynae if that’s possible.

I spoke to them, they are giving me tranexamic acid again. Did your fibroids shrink at all? I read the bleeding could be from them shrinking.

I didn’t have fibroids but it was really helpful for easing my endometriosis symptoms. Good luck and all the best of you do have to go ahead with surgery.

Bleeding might be expected in the first month but not for long periods, so I would suggest alerting your doctor to it ASAP

I had no bleeding at all, and they were shrunk enough that my operation was much more straightforward than the surgeon had feared. I've never had any menopause symptoms either, I consider myself extremely lucky. Best of luck with yours.
