Worried about early period

I really Need some advice

I will visit the doc but I'm just worried and it's the weekend

So I'm 36 (37 in feb)
My periods have been as regular as they can be and past 5 months they've been ranging from every 30-36 days so they've hovered around that mark.

I had a period on the 22nd November 2024 and it was normal
But I woke up today with blood when I wipe ( Sorry tmi) so im essentially around 13 days early!!
I do not spot between periods and I do not spot during ovulation so this is 'unusual for me'

Has this happened to anyone else and everything be ok and it just be a one off ? ( please no horror stories not in the head space for it)

I do not have PCOS or any of those conditions ( as far as I'm aware anyway never had any issues like that before)

There is absolutely zero chance of pregnancy and I've not had sex recently so it can't be caused in anything related to that.

I have had a weird cold/flu recently and I'm still a bit bunged up from that.

Could this just be a light normal period ?

Hi yes similar happened to me a few years ago, I bled for one day mid cycle, I googled and I presume it was ovulation that caused it. Only happened the once but I was worried and had a scan which showed everything was normal. The following month I fell pregnant and had no spotting/ bleeding or anything.

It's good you're going to see the doctor just in case but I wouldn't worry and I have had it before too. It could be a strange period due to illness or stress, a harmless polyp or fibroid, a change in hormone levels leading to a one off or more regular mid-cycle spotting, are you sure it's discharge not a skin graze or abscess that was bleeding if it was just a one off?

Edited to add illness as in a bug, I didn't want to freak you out there :D

Do you have any major issues/ stresses right now?
Do you have any offspring that may or may not be causing immense stress?

I am having this too age 41 and day 14 I’ve had spotting never happened before
