Tubes tied

Has anyone successfully got their tubes tied after they were done having kids?

I know someone got they then via C section with their last child. But is it hard to have to done when your not pregnant/ giving birth?

What’s the operation like and recovery?

I have awful pregnancies (and sorry if this is triggering to anyone but we are very very fertile) and while DH will be getting the snip we are considering getting my tubes tied and using condoms to make sure no accidents happen.

I have heard it’s hard to get your tubes tied and doctors aren’t keen?

Depends on your age. Very hard if you're young. Much easier if you're older and have it done as part of a c section. Can your partner not have a vasectomy, it's more reliable too?

I had mine during my second c section in my early thirties when I knew I was done having kids and they offered it to me. It was the right choice for us.

Had mine done as a stand alone procedure at 26/27 (can't recall) - absolutely fine, had it done on the Friday at 5pm and was back to work on the Monday morning for a 13 hour shift, quite painful in the abdo region due to the laparoscopic puncture points if you will, but completely bearable without pain relief. No issues and no visible marking 3 years on.

Had it done in my early 30s. I was in hospital over night. No pain relief needed. I didn’t ask DH to have a vasectomy because I was definitely 2 and done whatever would happen in the future. Consultant readily agreed to do the op but was refusing it to younger women.
