I’ve taken 5ml of Ovex yesterday and can still feel the little bastards wriggling around. Can I take another shot to speed up the process?! Any tips for feeling more comfortable? What a mortifying experience!

Apparently not everyone shows symptoms. My worst was when DD got them, younger DD was under two and we had to go through a whole 111 rigmarole to get her prescribed the exact same medication the rest of us were taking, over the counter

Put Vaseline over your bottom. Lots of it. My DD had the fuckers in her vagina. I had to fish one out, it was so painful, she was bleeding.

My DS got them as a teenager and gave them to me and DH a couple of yrs ago (he never had nits but worms were not very pleasant). I struggled to get rid of them. One of his friends was clearly re-infecting him and us!
I will never forget pripsen😣

I suffered horribly from threadworms as a child, teenager and young woman. I remember the day I passed my driving test going to Boots and buying Ovex to keep in my drawer so I wouldn't have to ask my mum anymore.

I had to have Pripsen when I was 38 weeks pregnant with DS4 as they wouldn't let me take Ovex so close to potentially bf-ing. It brought dreadful memories back of being about 6 and sitting on the kitchen counter with my mum making me drink horrid strawberry 'milkshake'. Even now I wonder how it was ever a good idea to sit me on the kitchen counter - but maybe that is why I had them my whole childhood?

I haven't had them in over 2 years now, and I am in my mid 50s with impeccable hygiene - I think I am just one of those people who is a good environment for worms 😞

OP, so sorry you are going through this - I hope medication helps to kill the buggers soon x

I used to have the cherry pripsen. As a thumb sucker I got worms frequently. Like others, I can to this day recall the horrendous taste of it and used to vomit it back out. They should use it as a trial on I'm a celebrity 😂

Hoglet70 · 05/12/2024 06:03

Pripsen had amazing laxative effects too. Ugh!

Same happened to my daughter and it was a big one, I got it out but it wasn't painful for her and it seemed to end the problem (we took the tablet as well).

This thread has made me itchy again 😂 thanks everyone for your advice, thank god I have 2024 worms I guess! Last night was much more comfortable. Luckily my two DS’s are at their dads the last 2 nights and haven’t shown any signs of being infected, I will give them Ovex tonight just in case! Awful little bastards, wouldn’t wish this on anyone, can’t imagine seeing your child suffering with them!

I used to worm my kids regularly or at least keep the stuff in the house. Just remember to give them the second dose in a couple of weeks and tell dad to treat himself and his household as well. It should nip it in the bud.

I'd rather deal with headlice me. At least you get to squish the little fuckers

ThisCosyPoster · 05/12/2024 15:36

Yep vaseline your butt. That will kill them when they come out. Good luck.
