Bad period

Morning,

So i got mild period pain yesterday morning wiped and a bit of blood was on the tissue, thought nothing of it and was like ok here we go period time

Fast forward to yesterday evening no heavy bleed yet all dry but the period pain was really bad, mostly around my left side ovary area, it eased with ibrupfen but again last night the pains started again, worse than I usually get!
Could barely sleep with worry and pain,

Still no blood

I'm getting really worried it could be something sinister as I've not had a bad period like this in years,

I have the copper coil about 8 years now, I'm 39

Any ideas what this could be? I'll be ringing the doc if it increases

Are your poos normal?
It could be the transition into peri causing it, periods do tend to go a bit wild.

Yes poos are normal, but i do get relief a bit when I pass wind (sorry)

I was thinking peri also, just worried could be a cyst or something, just feels so raw with pain

Pain is coming and going, mostly around my left side and around my back, really painful. Ibuprofen not touching it, have rang to see the doctor tomorrow morning

Have you done a pregnancy test? Just being cautious but you need to rule out an ectopic pregnancy

No i didn't do a pregnancy test yet,

i sound silly and I know that prob can happen, but I have a copper coil and I'm currently on my period

Being on your period and having a coil doesn’t rule out pregnancy.

Just an update here,

Doctor reckons it might be a cyst, so has referred me for an ultra sound,

Anyone have any advise on what happens of they find a cyst, going out of my mind with worry now again

So I had a cyst found, then it went and they classed it as a normal cyst
I had some bloods and an ultrasound
So that could be it just a normal cycle cyst

Then I went back with ovary pain, they rescanned me and found a 9cm cyst on my right ovary and a 4cm one on my left and then said "oh your ovaries are kissing"
Stage 4 endometriosis and adenomyosis
My pain is severe though, I've been on morphine all weekend and still would happily rip my right ovary out!

Thanks for your story about cysts, I know it will probably be ok, but christ the worry is unbelievable when it comes to health with me,

Yes I'm having my endo excised and cysts removed then a mirena fitted

Try taking a buscopan....it helps with period cramps too.
Also
2 weeks before your expected period, follow the Ayurvedic recommended diet of eating warm foods to ease period pains.

Avoid cold foods: red meat, carbs , sugar, certain veg

Increase warm foods, 🐟 🐟 🐟, chicken, chocolate (dark), cinnamon, fennel seeds, dates , eggs.

Just an update here incase anyone is googling mumsnet like mad with the same symptoms like i did,

Just got a message scan was all clear and bloods normal
