Hi
I have just taken my 1st injection of Mounjaro. I do have health anxiety and I have had it in the fridge for the last 4 weeks summing it the courage to use it. Tonight I have geared myself up and taken the plunge. What type of side effects did you have as my anxiety is starting to kick in and I just need some grounding advice.

There's a whole topic dedicated to weight loss injections. You might have more luck posting in there.

It's perfectly normal to sleep badly on the first night - mainly cos you're worrying about it! But you'll feel less anxious as the days go by.

The side effects are often caused by eating fatty food. So avoid that as much as possible - lots of salads and healthy eating. If you do over eat or eat fatty foods, you are likely to get diarrhoea and nausea. This passes if you just don't eat for a while and give your stomach a break.

Drinks lots and lots of water.

There are so many threads you can go to for support and help. Lots of lovely people on them. Good luck.

Come and join us on the November mounjaro starters. Lots of us were nervous to do the first jab but it’s a really supportive group. I’m about to do my second jab having lost 6lbs this week.

I've been on mounjaro since June and have lost over 3 stone. Absolutely no side effects, and I feel great!
It's different for everyone though.
Good luck x

@thingymijigi my friend is doing it and 4 weeks ahead, that’s what gave me the confidence. I need help to lose weight. I’ve done it before but now I’m in my 40s and my eating is so disordered from yo-yo dieting. Drink lots and you will be fine. I’ve been a bit more tired than usual but I’ve not got the food noises. It’s weird but lovely.

TeenLifeMum · 24/11/2024 22:23

@LionAndEmperor13 well done!

Yes it's definitely become harder in my 40s and it's gone on my hips and bum, that's never happened before! I might try it tomorrow then ... eek
