Diagnosed with endometriosis and adenomyosis

Recently diagnosed with the following.. currently on prostap injections.. ask me anything for anyone who is suffering with any of these ♥️❤️

I've just been diagnosed with adenomyosis and I'm worried that it might get worse. I'm only late thirties. How old are you, and have you noticed a worsening of your symptoms over time?

Can I ask how long it took for you to get your diagnosis?

I am just beginning investigations for this and preparing for a long wait. I'm finding it hard to know which of my symptoms may be linked to that, and which are due to perimenopause which i seem to be experiencing at only 38!

@Ihaveneedofwaternear I’m 32 and the only cure for adenomyosis is hysterectomy which I am going to have .. yes my symptoms started when I was 28 and got worse over time but I think that’s the endo more than adeno..

@Etherealcelestialbeing it took me just over 1 year as I pushed so bad and my mental health is really bad after my daughter died in 2021 so they took me serious.. I also called for cancellations every Monday I used to have an alarm on every Monday… the Secetery knew my voice and finally called me back she was so happy for me.. initially my appointment was meant to be in October but I got it in march.. but generally gyni is a long wait and now I am under a endo specialist at my local hospital

Hi, I’m due to start these injections next month ready for hysterectomy in feb/march. I also have endo, adeno and endosalpingiosis. I had surgery and coil fitted in September but now my bad pain in right ovary lasts longer and my periods are lighter but last three weeks. I’m so scarred down there and am already sterilised so I just want a hysterectomy. I’m 43 and am worried about Prostap and bones and also I’ve heard it can make symptoms worse at first…did you have this? Thinking it could ruin Christmas!

I has a ultrasound yesterday for heavy bleeding and was told ( not for the first time) I have cysts in my uterus. Six years ago I had one. Now I have more. I was wondering if it be blood?

Hey @CallawayV so when I had my first one it was a monthly one which lasts 4 weeks that made me bleed more n I had pain all month BUT then when I had the higher dose which is the 3 monthly one it dried everything up and my pain got better by 60percent… if you have adeno it should definitely help… I still have the flare up days but it is bearable .. they are giving you these so the tissue don’t spread anymore and sometimes it can shrink the tissue .. I had a small endo tissue on my bowels and on my last scan it had gone which I am so thankful for.. I do have insomnia but magnesium has really helped me and I have hot flushes but i rather have a hot flush than the pain I used to get.

i was like you very scared and I googled so much then I thought eff it I’m going For it n I’m glad I’m did I’m also having hysterectomy I’m 32.. I have 3 kids… I’m keeping my ovaries though coz of my age xx

@IncessantNameChanger have they booked you in for a repeat scan ??

They didn't when then first saw 1 six years ago. This time she didn't even mention them, I had to ask. She said I had multiple. During the scan she asked if I had problems with my bowels, the scan was over in two minutes and left me wondering if I had bowel cancer. No idea what happens next but I took some small comfort I didn't get a phone call the next day from the gp. But it was late on Thursday so maybe even it was worrying there wasn't enough time to contact me.

My gp asked on Friday if I'd had the scan yet so I did ask her all these questions vie e consult but I suspect she doesn't work on Fridays
