Mirena coil - no periods before but now periods?

Had a Mirena coil previously for 5 years and had no periods at all whilst it was fitted (other than a bit of bleeding for the couple of weeks after). Now have another Mirena coil having had two children and I get bleeding fairly regularly (not quite monthly I'd say but maybe every couple of months). Has anyone else experienced this? I'm slightly worried that maybe it hasn't been fitted properly and isn't working that well. But could also of course just be that post partum things are working a bit differently I guess...

Is the bleeding when you’d normally get a period, because you can still get them?
When my mirena had moved down, so wasn’t working properly, I was having heavy irregular bleeds, it wasn’t like periods.

@DustyLee123 I don't know exactly because I had it put in before I started having periods so I don't know exactly when they would be IYSWIM. But I used to have very regular monthly periods lasting c. 5 days. These are irregular, happening every two or three months, maybe for a couple of days. Was the bleeding you had when it wasn't working like your normal periods but irregular, or...?

No, when it wasn’t working I had heavy sudden bleeds that lasted a couple of hours.
