Nipple discharge, is this normal?

Morning. I'm a 43 year old mum of 3. I've not breastfed for over 9 years. Definitely not pregnant and also have a Mirena coil.

Lay in bed with a book last night I felt my left nipple was wet, had a look and could see it was. Squeezed it and they're was a clear liquid. Checked the other side and had it there, too. Checked again later and it's still there. Google suggests this is likely normal and hormonal, but for extra reassurance, hopefully, I thought I'd ask your advice. Any experiences or knowledge? Many thanks.

Any unusual liquid coming from your nipple should get checked. Like you say, it’s probably nothing, but always worth investigating.

Spoke to a private GP this morning and I'm seeing a consultant tomorrow. I've no clue what the appointment will involve but my insurance has given me cover for a consultation, mammogram, blood tests and scans.

I'll post on here after I've had the appointment, incase it helps anyone else in the future.

I hope everything went well today x

All went well, thanks. Had a consultation, mammogram and an ultrasound. Nothing worrying found. Such a relief. Seems to be a hormonal cause. Thanks for all your replies.

My right nipple has started to leak. I’m very interested in how you get in. My gp dismissed it. Good luck and please let me know how you get on.
