I've had breast cysts for about 6 years now, and have had a couple aspirated in the past when they've gotten too big and painful. I do see my doctor if I have a new one, but it's so hard to tell as I do have lots of them in both breasts.
The last few months I've felt what I thought was one on the lower inside part of my boob, almost on the inside cup line of a bra. I always wait a bit just to see if it gets smaller as sometimes they go up and down with my cycle. This one has just gotten bigger and more painful. Trip to the docs who felt it and agreed probably cyst, found a few more new ones so app at hospital to get it double checked and aspirated.
Had my appointment today, first check doctor and someone training both felt it and agreed probably cyst, not he did suggest they might not be able to aspirate as it was behind muscle.
Mamogram next and that was fine, the. Onto ultrasound. Consultant came in could feel the lump which was super painful by now after being prodded ans squashed, but she couldn't see anything at all there on the ultrasound. Could see all my other cysts but nothing where the pain was, called in a colleague who did the same, felt it, I was visibly bracing when they touched that spot, no pain anywhere else, but she couldn't see anything either. They said they didn't want to put a needle in as would be going in blind.
So they've sent me home and asked me to come back for a recheck in 6 weeks. I do feel slightly reassured that they can't be too worried leaving it 6weeks. I think they are hoping it will go away or move so they can see it and get a needle in or actually see what it is as the last consultant said it isn't a cyst.
I'm home now and feeling a bit deflated and wondering what the hell it is. I was hoping just to get an aspiration and be on my way. Don't want to waste peoples time but it's definitely a lump as 5 medical people have now felt it. I'm also wondering if they thought I was exaggerating the pain. I really aren't, it doesn't hurt anywhere else apart from that one spot. And I wasn't going ott or anything but did flinch a few times, maybe a few gasps but nothing too dramatic 😂
Anyone else had anything similar?
