NHS Waiting list 2.5 years

Hi, just wondering if anyone is in the same boat..

I spoke to by GP after having DD3 about being sterilised, this would have been 2021 October time. I then had a video call in June 2022 and was added to the waiting list. I got a text message in August asking if I still wanted to be on the list to which I replied yes and I've heard nothing else 🙃. Is this normal? Has anyone had one in the last few years or are also waiting? I'm not sure whether to phone the hospital and ask, on the video call they did say it would take about 18 months.

Thanks

Not sure about the waiting list but I was point blank refused it unless I tried absolutely every other contraception available first which I'm not willing to do
Was told I'd never get one on the nhs otherwise

Can your partner get the snip ?
It's a much quicker and easier operation.

Yes I would suspect thats normal - it’s not a priority as there are other forms of contraception that can be utilised. Priority will be the urgents / trauma coming through a and e , cancer etc…

About a year in we talked about this but because I was on the waiting list we thought it would be quicker for me 🤷‍♀️
