Hi! Anyone else experience what looks like bumpiness on the side of the tongue. My anxiety has been through the roof. Please any insights.

It's where it presses against your teeth. Some people have it, my exh included. I don't, I'm a mouth breather so maybe that's why?
Out of interest, no judgement, what about it is causing you anxiety?

Yes it's the indentation of your teeth against your tongue. You will notice it more if your mouth is dry or if you are dehydrated.

Does it look like its concerning?

This is not a sign of cancer or any other illness. Your worry is a sign of health anxiety, though. Are you getting any treatment for it?

I have Hashimotos thyroiditis and when it flares up I get this, its commonly called piecrust tongue and does occur in some autoimmune disorders (due to widespread inflammation). Could also be due to dehydration

Does your tongue feel weird? What autoimmune disorder? Thyroid issues?

It’s an immune disorder easily treated with levothyroxine but did cause a range of minor symptoms, including a puffy dry tongue and horizontal thick ridges across my fingernails. It causes fatigue and low mood as well as weight gain. Of course, there are other causes of the ridged tongue including being dehydrated so don’t panic
