Thrush after period

Hi all, this is the 2nd time I've had thrush following my period.. last month I took the pessary and cream and symptoms went after about 5 days. I'll do an econsult tomorrow to see if the doctors can tell me why this is happening after a period as I've I've never had this before.
Has anyone else had similar?

have you been using tampons, as Ive had a problem with these causing thrush before. Never use them now.

I have the same with tampons, find them very irritating. Hate pads too but I find I don't have the thrush symptoms with these.

Thrush after a period is common. To do with hormone levels and your vaginal biome. It’s likely the pessary didn’t completely clear it last time. I was advised to take the thrush tablet and then take another 7 days later. At the same time take a decent probiotic for vaginal health.

Have you ever tried a Mooncup? It was an absolute revelation for me. Used one happily for about 20 years after struggling with tampons and dryness. I found it leaked a lot less too. I also use a shower gel containing tea tree oil - the Original Source mint one is excellent if you can hack it!
