Light spotting mid cycle after sex in my early 40s

Has anyone else had this? The last few months after sex approx mid cycle I’ve had light pink on wiping or a day of spotting. The sex is as usual and not more rough at all. Have others had this? Is it just one of those peri signs? I don’t quite remember if it’s every month, I’ve just started recognising the pattern.

It is probably nothing, however any changes you should see your GP. Are you diligent getting smear tests?

I've had this many, many times over the years! I've had two cervical ectropians which have been treated. This is a non cancerous 'sensitive' area on the cervix which bleeds on contact. Do you bleed after a smear test? If so, there's a chance you could have an ectropian.

Another reason I've had for bleeding after sex is blood which didn't get fully expelled after the previous period which comes down after orgasm. This can be due to dodgy hormone levels (I have pcos). My gynaecologist confirmed this can be a thing.

Keep an eye on the bleeding, see if there's any patterns then see your gp if it carries on past a few cycles.
