Anyone reverse frontal hairloss?

Pumpy001 · 04/11/2024 19:55

Hi in the last week I've noticed that I'm balding you can see through my hair at the front about 3 inches and its devastating.

I'm soon to be 45, will have my bloods done end of the week.

But really is there any chance this lost hair will ever come back?

Please say yes

Mine never did.

Mine is definitely thinning at the front. I think it's related to low iron. However, I did have cancer treatment two years ago which put me in the early menopause so it could also be that. I'm 44.

I'm starting Balayam, a type of yoga
Getting bloods check
And massaging scalp with rosemary oil

Here's to fingers crossed!

Thank you for responding

Hope it goes well. Rosemary oil is supposed to be good.

Getting bloods done will be reassuring, think lack of B12 can cause hair loss as well.

Can I ask how you got diagnosed?
My GP just told me to take iron, that was it, no bloods or referral. And I took iron for some time, but it never grew back.

I believe Regaine can have good results, but they stop when you stop using it. And I’m sure there was some controversy over it at one time.
Theres also Biotin that’s meant to be good for hair, but it’s in my B vitamins that I take every day, with no effect.
Has anyone had any luck with rosemary oil, or is it just a TikTok trend?

Lots of my hair fell out due to losing weight. It's not come back yet. What do you do with the rosemary oil?

CrotchetyQuaver · 06/11/2024 08:45

I'm sorry you're going through this, I was actually talking about this with my hairdresser yesterday about this and she told me a lot of those affected wore hairpieces these days.
I've had various phases with my hair quality/strength over the years from Perimenopause onwards. Low iron, b12 and underactive thyroid definitely cause problems. It went a bit limp and thin a year ago, I allowed myself to be sucked in by the claims made on a FB advert about collagen, thought I'd try some, and my hairs thick, strong and looking good again now. When you decide to go with the natural grey colour which I did some years ago, the hairs got to look good to carry it off successfully!

You might be able to fix this, I hope you can xx

Yes I forgot to add, im having 20g collagen powder daily too.

You massage the rosemary oil into the scalp and leave to soak in before washing

Yes, Minodoxil/Regaine.

Silvertree188 · 06/11/2024 21:40

unfortunately things I tried didn't work for me I've lost so much from the front I can't go out without a wig .is undermined my confidence so much .
but maybe if u try early on you might have some Success .
