Hysteroscopy biopsy results

I am getting rather fed up with waiting for results of a biopsy. I am not especially anxious but just not enjoying an unspecified wait.

So I thought I would ask MNers who have recently had this....how long did you wait for results and how were you informed?

Mine took three weeks (already had follow up with consultant booked), it was private.
The results might have been available sooner but I had to wait to see gynae.

In my experience, if it's something to worry about, they let you know on an urgent basis.

I was diagnosed with cancer and have had quite a few biopsies. I don't stress if I have to wait a few weeks.

I was sent a letter with an oncology appointment less than 2 weeks after hysteroscopy. Not told officially until appointment, but didn’t take a genius to work out the result…

Oh, that must have been very stressful.

Oh, that must have been very stressful.

Was surprisingly calm, and had felt like a hypochondriac so almost relieved which is bonkers!

Piggywaspushed · 25/10/2024 21:31

Yes, I kind of get that.

3 weeks. I was quite stressed as although my surgeon saw me the day after surgery and said that the uterus didn’t look cancerous I still wanted to see it in black and white.

LLresident · 26/10/2024 16:15

sorry just saw was hysteroscopy which I read as hysterectomy 🙄

Piggywaspushed · 01/11/2024 11:53

I'm still waiting. It'll be 4 weeks on Monday.
