Myomectomy or Hysterectomy ?

Has anyone had a Myomectomy in their late 40s for a uterine fibroid?

Did it work or do you wish you just had the hysterectomy?

Hi, I had a myomectomy aged 32 and then a hysterectomy aged 43 as the fibroids came back. In my late 40’s think I’d go straight to a hysterectomy. Good luck

Given they will likely shrink after menopause (unless you go on HRT), you could just wait and see.

I had hysterectomy aged 42, was happy to have the fibroid with all the terrible symptoms removed and also to no longer have periods. I think it may depend on the size and type of fibroid.

What did you decide? - currently facing this decision.

I had a myomectomy so far so good.
