Period in middle of cycle

Hi everyone,

For context, I’m 31, no hormonal birth control (we use condoms), definitely not pregnant, 2 DC aged 4 and 2.5, Since being a young teenager always had a textbook 28 day cycle.

My periods have been out of whack since the summer. July was a normal cycle, then August was almost 2 weeks late, September 5 days early, October 3 days late.

I’m now cycle day 15 after this last period. I started with spotting yesterday, but the internet informed me it could be ovulation bleeding since I wash cycle day 14 (never experienced this before though!). However, this morning I’ve woken up to a full blown period!! Only two weeks since I started my last one.

I was wondering if anyone had experienced anything like this? And if you ever found out what the problem was? It’s starting to worry me.

I know this is common in perimenopause, but I’m only 31 so seems unlikely at my age. My mum has just got through hers in her mid-50s.

Not that unlikely at 31, peri can last years before menopause. Also it's not that relevant when your mum went through it as there are so many factors known and unknown for when you ho through peri and menopause. See gp but id say peri is likely

This was me a few months ago. Always standard cycle every 28 or 29 days then out of nowhere had 2 periods in each of June and July. Back to normal since. I was confused too
