Coil strings issue

Hi I had my coil fitted a couple of months ago. My partner has repeatedly mentioned discomfort during sex, and this doesn’t seem to be getting better with time, even though the strings are meant to be getting softer and more pliable. The doctor suggested shortening them, but this doesn’t make sense to me as they’d surely feel even more uncomfortable due to being ‘poly’, while now they are long and curved kind of around the cervix. Has anyone experienced this problem? I’m really not sure how to proceed…

I meant ‘pokey’… if shortened…

Mine are really short and never had any mention of them being uncomfortable - they're probably under an inch long if that

They are usually cut them to 2-3 cm

But your correct sometimes making them shorter makes them jabby, it also makes it more likely for them to go up inside your cervix and cause issues when it comes to removing it

They will just cut them really short which more than likely the penis wont be able to reach

Thank you for your replies so far but my cervix is really really low! So I don’t think that’s going to be the case @Cas112 😔 I’m afraid the exact opposite is going to happen…

If anyone else is able to share their experience I’d appreciate it!
