What medicine for UTI

I think I have got a UTI. I don’t think it’s cystitis as I’ve had that before but I have pain in my lower right side and back and it especially hurts to pee or walk.i’m not sure what medication to buy/take. TIA

I've tried drinking loads of water in an attempt to flush it through, and taking cystitis sachets aswell and I just can't seem to wash it away.

Look at getting a test done with Focus Medical if you can afford it.

Or otherwise have a very frank conversation with your GP and TELL them to send the sample of to microscopy and grow a sample on a dish. They are fucking useless. The dipstick test is 50 years out of date and only catches 50% of infections.

You need to find out what you've got and what antibiotics will work. I don't want to scare you but you need to get this sorted asap because the longer it stays infected the longer it takes for your bladder to heal. The whole inner gag layer will peel off and then it can become embedded. And that's a road you really don't want to do down.

If you've been sexually active before this started, I'd suggest getting the vaginal swab test done as well - because there are a number of bugs such as ureaplasma that can give UTI type symptoms but are actually in the vagina.

I haven’t got cystitis it doesn’t burn it’s another type of UTI she fobbed me off told me to phone practitioners tomorrow for a urine sample @Oblomov24 I didn’t realise that could happen that’s made me worried now
