A gush after period has seemingly ended.

33yo. Periods very regular/otherwise normal. However the last few months, after my period has seemingly ended, I have several big gushes of blood a day or two later. This will last maybe two toilet trips.

This can be a whole day, or even two days after bleeding has stopped. Even after clear discharge has started (EWCM starts quite soon after period ends).

Apart from this they are normal. A day or two of heavy flow, eventually tapering off to nothing by day 5/6. The gush will then come day 7/8.

Any ideas?

Yes had this became the new norm mid thirties, stayed like that until early forties when peri kicked in

Yes that was me for last couple of years of period I used to think it was a pool that had gathered and suddenly a change in position or something spilled it

I had this, the month by month heavier and heavier periods that became totally unmanageable - 2/3 days a month when I couldn't really leave the house.
Turned out o had a large polyp. I've just had it removed and a Mirena coil fitted to see if it solves it. Now early 40s

Another strange month. Now on day 8 of bleeding. It hasn’t even stopped this time.
I am due my smear so will talk to the nurse about it then.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I've been referred to gynaecology for the exact same reason and brown spotting after it ends.
