After hysterectomy and post op healing, what should I expect?

I am going to have a hysterectomy in the near future (gulp)

I have had appointments and asked loads of questions, but I am still left wondering about a few things…

What happens about my pelvic floor?
Will everything just go slack and I’ve lost it, or will it spring back?
Is there anything left to exercise and (re)tighten up?
What, if anything, will the loose end of the vagina connect to?
Will all the pelvic organs hang about loosely in the empty space, or will they all cluster together?
is there any connective tissues to… connect everything up?

For reference, I'm far beyond menopause, almost seventy.

Any info on experiences gratefully received.

Oh yes,I forgot.
Would you advise waist high knickers to support the abdomen? Or any other garment?
If so, how long for?

I had a Hysterectomy and BSO 5 weeks ago. I was peri menopausal. I had it done via laparoscopic robot.
I stayed in hospital overnight and have recovered very well. I haven’t needed a single dose of painkillers, apart from what was given in recovery.
They stitch the top of the vagina to seal it, which is know as a vaginal cuff. I have noticed that my pelvic floor is a bit weaker, particularly when standing, but have I’m now using the NHS squeezy app which is helping.
I’d avoid the Hysterectomy Sisters Facebook group as this seems to be full of people keen to share bad stories or slow recoveries.
