Mirena cpil after 5 years

Hi all
Ive had my current mirena coil for 5 years 9 months...it was due changing in jan but when i called they said it can now be left in for 6 years.
For the last 2 mirenas my periods have stopped apart from a teeny bit of spotting a few times .
For the last 2 months ive been getting brown discharge and when i wipe blood...this was for a week at the start of the month nothing for 2 weeks now its started again today.
I have a Sore belly ,feel swollen, miserable and a few days ago my boobs were so sore !!
I have real sensory issues and no periods made my life so much better , sorry that sounds so ridic !

Has anyone else experienced similar after their mirena being in over 5 years, i want to call them to possibly get it removed and a new one fitted but unsure if they will

Yes. It stopped working but the guidelines said it could be left in for certain length of time so they tried to persuade me to leave it in. And where I live anyway, it's really difficult to find someone to replace it at all unless it's for contraception (ie not menopause). Eventually I went private to have it taken out altogether and use Utrogestan instead.

I couldn't get mine changed before 6 years which is a pain because my periods came back. They will change if after 6 years however and apparently it's still effective as contraception for 6 years but not for HRT.
