Need advice - conflicting AMH and AFC results

Hi everyone,

I took an at home AMH test (medichecks) on day 3 of my current cycle and it came back low at 14pmol/l. I was shocked as I had only done it the prior month and it was 32pmol/l so I feel panicked. I had a baseline ultrasound test done last week on day 8 of my cycle, so 5 days after I received my AMH results and it was amazing - I had 25 antral follicles! I explained my low AMH to the sonographer and she said it's likely a lab error as they are way to conflicting why how many eggs I had on the scan.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm retesting my amh as I want to prove it was a fluke as in now stressed my egg reserve is dropping.

Almost the opposite. I had initial blood tests at the fertility clinic and the AMH came back fine (can’t remember what it was) but my follicle count was low. Then they tested my AMH again and it was poor (IIRC high is poor but it’s a long time ago).

I’d say antral follicle count likely to be a more accurate / true measure of your actual fertility?

But I’m not a doctor so best to ask them (as always with anything medical related).
