Have had migraines since I got my first period at 11. Every month ,2 or 3 days before my periods starts I get this horrible migraine in the right side of my head with stabbing like pain behind the eye . I also get migraines on other occasions when triggered by certain smells ,lack of sleep or stress .
Would usually take ibuprofen and paracetamol lie in the dark and sleep it off . I now have two children one of them being 6 months old , I cannot rest ,be miserable and sleep it off anymore .
I am breastfeeding atm so I try not to use many painkillers but I also need a resolution because I can’t live with this pain anymore.
Does any of you ladies have any advice ? Natural remedies? Lifestyle changes made a difference? Triptans?

Sumatriptan was life changing for me. Instead of suffering for 3 days I can take a tablet and feel normal again in half an hour. Worth a try to see if they work for you?

As well as sumatriptan, I alternate with Frovatriptan. I also have menstrual migraines that are worse at night and wake me up. My specialist advised I take the Triptans with dispersable paracetamol and to prevent the night ones I take them with metaclopramide. Totally game changing.

@LivelyGoldOrca Thank you for the link ☺️
@NellieTheElephant1 I will speak with my GP about Sumatripan, seems like it works for most
@prettydesertflower Is the metaclopramide for the nausea ? Does the dispersable paracetamol works better than the normal one ? I don’t take much paracetamol anymore because it just doesn’t work but I would be happy to go back to using,it’s the safest out of all painkillers. Will definitely try the combo !
