Prolapse surgery must haves for post op

My 60 year old mum is going in tomorrow for prolapse surgery. (Bladder & back wall from what we understand)
All of her hospital appointments have been a mess and communication from the hospital has been terrible.

She hasn't been informed how the surgery will take place, where she will be cut etc etc. she is very fit & healthy for a 60 year old and is very laid back to the point she hasn't even prepped a hospital bag yet.

I'd like advice from anyone who can think of ANHTHING significant that would make the recovery more bearable/comfortable. (Until last night she'd not even thought about sanitary pads!)

What are some must haves for post op, in hospital or at home?
