I'm 52 and periods still going strong! Clots have got worse though. As disgusting as it is I managed to catch one earlier which I photographed next to my contact lens case for an idea of size.
Should I be concerned?

Mine are similar. I'm not worried.

Personally I'd panic with that but I've never had anything near that size. It's all about what is abnormal for you. If this is a recent change I'd seek medical advice

AnnaMagnani · 23/09/2024 21:02

If that's frequent I'd start wondering if 1: I was anaemic and 2: I had fibroids that needed some attention.

TheChosenTwo · 23/09/2024 21:04

Ah. I get some like this. Not every period. I have PCOS so a whole host of grisly symptoms and things going on down there 🫣
If you’re worried do see someone but it’s fairly typical for me. They really do come out with some force don’t they?!

JoJothegerbil · 23/09/2024 21:07

I had some like this. Turned out I had a womb full of polyps.

Rerrin · 23/09/2024 21:15

It was entirely normal for me at one point, alarmingly. I regularly brought a change of clothes to work. I ended up having surgery to scorch out my uterine lining and had a mirena coil fitted at the same time. I’d go and have it investigated, OP. It’s not necessarily anything serious, but bleeding that heavily is debilitating.

I have clots like that. I'm 49 and have been having them a few years. Actually the last few periods have been much lighter, and I skipped period too, so I'm hoping things are getting easier...

ccchan · 23/09/2024 21:38

I have had clots 20p-size towards the end (last 2 years) of my periods. Wasn't concerned.

Rainbow1612 · 23/09/2024 21:41

Clots bigger than a 50p can be perfectly normal but should also be checked out in case of conditions such as endometrial hyperplasia.

Hoglet70 · 24/09/2024 06:08

I usually get at least one like that every month.
