Missed a period - Spearmint tea or peri?

I'm 43, 2 months ago I started drinking spearmint tea to help treat pcos symptoms (increasingly hairy chin, elevated testosterone and 21 day cycle). And now this month I've completely skipped a period (2 weeks late and no sign of it) . I'm wondering if this is an effect on the tea or could it just be a normal peri menopause symptom? Is this normal for perimenopuase to just skip a period? Definitely not pregnant!

Missing periods is actually normal for women with PCOS.

Agreed with PP. Missing your period is very normal for women with PCOS. I highly doubt its from peppermint tea. Have you taken a pregnancy test just to be safe?

I dont think the tea will CAUSE a missed period

Ime it's meant to help the PCOS symptoms not make them worse

If I were you I'd get your bloods done to check testosterone (and androgens generally) also insulin

Once you know if testosterone is high I would look at myo-inositol, berberine and all the other natural options available to reduce testosterone/androgens and check out insulin resistance diets

There are slightly different options open to you if you are "only" insulin resistant and not hormonally out of whack too

Sorry - I've just seen you DO have high testosterone....

Myo-inositol is a great start plus fish oil, zinc and chaste tree berry

Thanks all. I thought for years I couldn't have pcos because my cycle is very regular albeit very short (21 days). But I have had many other pcos symptoms. I managed to conceive by lengthening my luteal phase thankfully. And I was wondering if the spearmint tea might have had a similar effect in lengthening that luteal phase but it's gone past that point and I've just skipped a period completely. I stopped the tea two weeks ago to see if that would make my period appear but nothing 😕. Weird. Is it normal in peri menopause to skip a period out the blue? Cycles have been regular up until now.

Its very normal with high testosterone/insulin to skip periods, sometimes for many months

There are quite a few PCOS groups on Facebook with loads of info too
