Hi lovely ladies. I am 52 take numerous medications for Bp and anxiety. Recently went to turkey and for the duration my ankles were really swollen. I am back home now 24hrs and they are still sore, at what point do I seek a GP I do worry a lot but I know Adema in extreme heat is common. Maybe thinking they would go away overnight was wishful thinking. Thank you x nb it’s both ankles but one is worse than the other

Oedema can be exacerbated by flying as well. Have you kept them elevated? An underlying conditions like diabetes? I'd see a nurse prescriber or minor injuries after a couple of days if they haven't gone down

Have you tried an Epsom salt bath? Works wonders on oedema after a flight.

I’d see or call the GP if you still have it after a day or so.

I sometimes get this in extreme heat, or after long journeys. I'm also quite overweight. I've been steadily losing the weight since January.

I've found that the oedema gets better, the more weight I lose.

I've seen my doctor and she's tested me for various things, and she says it's nothing to worry about.

Thank you. I’ve never had swollen ankles before but it was 36/37 on holiday and I am heavier than I’ve been. They are def better today. If not markedly better tomorrow I’ll call GP x
