Swollen armpit

I’ve had a swollen armpit for a few weeks now. I have a GP appointment tomorrow but am sat worrying what it might be. I can’t feel any lump I don’t think, just that it’s swollen and doesn’t seem to go down. I also now can’t remember if I experienced this before or after I found out I was pregnant. My mum had breast cancer in her 60’s - I’m 30 and 13 weeks pregnant. Has anyone else experienced this?

Sorry that you didn't get any responses but do you have any updates? I'm going through something similar. Swelling/lump between armpit and right breast, there is an aching feeling too maybe as I'm due my period soon. I have stopped breastfeeding over 3 weeks ago. Have an appointment at the breast clinic on the 13th but super anxious and need some reassurance.

@HasB yes I went to my GP first who gave a breast examination and didn’t find anything concerning but referred me to the breast clinic for an ultrasound just to be sure. They found that I’ve got excess breast tissue in my armpit but there was nothing alarming and I’ve been discharged. Basically told it’s a weird pregnancy side effect and likely to go down postpartum when hormones return to normal.

Definitely worth getting checked but I think it’s something like only 1 in 8 women who attend the breast clinic actually find something that needs further examination so try not to worry too much! Wish you all the best x
