Hi I'm just wondering peoples experiences of the hormonal vs non hormonal coil

I've currently got the hormonal but I bleed randomly and get thrush all the time so have an appointment to get the copper coil on Monday but I've read up on it and now I'm having second thoughts

Thanks in advance

I bled almost continuously with the copper version. Light but continuous for over a year. I swapped it for the mirena which has almost stopped my periods altogether.

I went on the copper coil as I wanted to have something hormone free. My periods have remained the same they've always been quite light and regular. The only issue I've had is I've never been able to feel the stings and when I went to my last smear the nurse couldn't find them! This was after 6 years. I then had to have a scan and it was found to have moved. So I'm now on the waiting list to have it removed and replaced next march! So now I'm on the mini pill in the meantime and my periods are less regular and my breasts are so sore for 10 days before I get my period, I definitely suffer with more pms too! I can't wait to be hormone free again!

Why such a long wait to get it removed? That's awful 😔
