Bleeding in weeks after an endometrial biopsy

I had mid-cycle bleeding on HRT last August and October (so 2023). GP sent me for ultrasound which showed some thickening of the womb but not too much and since the bleeding hadn't reoccurred she was going to just leave it but on second thoughts, she sent me for a gyno consultation. By the time all that happened and I got an appointment it was this August (a year after first occurred) and I'd had no bleeding since then.

Gyno examined me, had a chat and then conducted an endometrial biopsy, results of which are pending. I had some bleeding on the day, which they told me to expect (and gave me a pad to wear) which lasted about a day.

However, since then, I've had spotting/light bleeding on and off through the month. First episode was about 10 days after the sample was taken and the day before I start my cyclical utrogestran. I had it another 2/3 days over the month (due my period this Friday and have light spotting now).

Has anyone else had this after an endometrial sample was taken?

It's SO bloody annoying that I happily sat there in the gyno consultation telling her the issue hadn't reoccurred since last October and within a week it DOES reoccur!

Side note: My migraines which were hormonal and monthly and very regular have been increasing in frequency over the last few months and are now about every 4-5 days so clearly my hormones are doing something wonky. I made a GP appointment for next week to discuss that, which I can tie this intermittent bleeding into when I see her, so I am going to seek proper medical advice on this.

Just wondering if anyone had experienced this though.

Hi just seen your post so thought I would reply.
I had a hysteroscopy and biopsy done on the 26th Nov for spotting on and off for a while whilst on evorel conti 50 patches. I have been on these for a good few years(I'm 54 started them around 50). Anyway gynae consultant said everything was clear she couldn't see anything at all but did a biopsy to make sure. I was told I would have cramps and bleeding but that would eventually stop. My results of the biopsy were clear. I had cramps and bleeding(red to brown then nothing) for around a week.yesterday(sat 14th nov) I went to the toilet and there was like burgundy red smear on the tissue? It cleared then this morning it happened again? I have read that this can go on for around 2/3 wks up to possibly 6wks. I'm so confused like yourself I wish it would just stop.

I've been having post menopausal bleeding every couple of weeks for the last 3 months so went to my GP last month who referred me for pelvic and transvaginal ultrasounds which showed I have a large uterine fibroid and endometrial polyp.

I've been referred to a gynaecologist for hysteroscopy, biopsies and treatment. I got an appointment for New Year's Eve but had to cancel it as I'm be away for a month so I'll have treatment once I'm back. I've made sure I'm on the theatre list and having it done under GA.

I hope I won't be in pain or bleed for long after treatment.

I started bleeding again today and I'm flying long haul next Tuesday so hopefully it will have stopped bleeding by then.

Hi just read my message again and realised I had put more bleeding on the 14th Nov I meant 14th dec 🤨. I had an ultrasound and transvaginal ultrasound which showed a thickened womb lining of 5.7mm everything else was fine. The gynae consultant said she wasn't concerned about this as HRT causes the lining to thicken. From the 26th Nov when I had the hysteroscopy/biopsy done to now 21st dec I still have very slight brown smearing after going for a wee but nothing else.I have a very light tummy ache intermittent but not needed to take painkillers. It feels like a bit of trapped wind🤷This whole situation has caused my anxiety to worsen even though I'm ok and everything has come back normal, I'm not eating properly and waking up early in the morning. I have managed to get to see a Dr on the 30th dec so hopefully I can get to talk about things. I know the gynae consultant has referred me back to my Dr as everything was clear I would have just liked a phone call from my Dr to make sure I'm ok. She did this after my ultrasounds?

Hi all.
Our bodies are so weird aren't they?

To update for those of you who just responded, that bleeding I had after the biopsy stopped after my next period so I'm assuming it was just caused by the biopsy. All was clear when I got the results back.

Have also tweaked HRT to try and address migraines which included getting the Mirena fitted so I've now been bleeding for 4/5 weeks since getting hat in! But hopefully that'll resolve soon.

Hope you all get to the bottom of your symptoms too.

My body definitely is. I had ultrasounds, hysteroscopy and biopsy's done about four yrs ago for the same issues spotting post menopause. All came back clear. I feel like the process just keeps repeating itself🤨😳. 3 and half weeks after the hysteroscopy/biopsys this time I'm still smearing light brown with what feels like trapped wind. All my results came back clear and my gynae Dr said she has no concerns. Whilst I know things are ok I'm still so anxious about every ache or pain thinking it's something sinister. The last three mths have been dreadful 😭
